Due to the crazy weather over the last 3 days, we were forced to postpone our baseball game vs Decatur on Friday 4/4. Our infield grass and dirt are still more than 50% submerged underwater. To ensure that we get the game in and do not push back multiple team's schedules in our district, we will be doing the following make up: Monday 4/7 v. Decatur Location- City View High School Time- 5:30 Varsity Only

Boomtown Babes Spring Show April 4 and April 5

BISD was proud to host resiliency influencer Brooks Gibbs. On Monday night, he delivered an inspirational message empowering BISD parents. The Boomtown Babes and BMS Choir performed, too!  Thanks to The River Assembly of God for providing hot dogs, BMS StuCo for providing water, and BMS S2S for serving free popcorn!  It was a stellar night, complete with tons of raffle prizes!  Dr. Gibbs also presented to BMS 6th and 7th graders, sharing about emotional resiliency.

BHS Menus for April

Last week we surveyed our elementary staff and elementary parents to see if they would be willing to add 10 minutes (5 min in the a.m. and 5 min in the p.m.) to the elementary bell schedule for the rest of the year beginning next Monday so that all students could get Good Friday (April 18th) off. The surveys had overwhelming support for this. This does not effect the secondary bell schedules as they are already longer. So, we will have April 18th off. See Calendar attached. Elementary parents: This does not alter any other part of the school day. The drop off times for parents in the morning will not be changed to an earlier time, but kids need to be at school no later than 7:40.

A Public Hearing of the Student Health Advisory Council (SHAC) of Burkburnett Independent School District will be held May 14th, beginning at 3:45 pm at the Overton Ray Elementary library. Last Saturday the Winter Guard had their NTCA Championships @ Marcus HS. We competed in RAA Classification and finished with a Division 1-Superior and 4th place in our round. We came out 16th highest score overall out of all 50 competitors of the day. The Guard also had two third place finishes in the regular season. Please congratulate a Winter Guard member if you see them, it was a tough season with very close scores at every single show. Below is a link to photos from the performance that day. You can tell what a great run they had by these photos! The Guard will perform the show one final time at the May 6th Spring Band Concert. Save the Date!

Naveah Rangel tied for the State Championship but received the silver medal after the tie breaker. Both athletes posted and 805 lb. Total. Naveah squatted 320 pounds, benched 145 pounds, and deadlifted 340 pounds. Keeping in mind she entered the State Meet with the 3rd best total as a freshman.
