Our Unified Track team is headed to the UIL State Track and Field Championship today. They will compete tomorrow, April 25, 2025 @ Hendrickson High School! Join us in wishing them good luck!

BHS Guard Auditions April 28 - May 2

Dr. Owen will be live on our Burkburnett ISD Facebook page on Monday, May 5th at 6 PM. If you have any questions for Dr. Owen, please ask them here 👇 in the comment section below in advance, and he will address them live. Please keep all questions focused on policies, processes, or facilities at the district or campus level. Dr. Owen will not be answering any questions about specific personnel or student situations. Dr. Owen will give a district update and then answer your submitted questions. Dr. Owen will end the town hall with a live Q & A that will allow you to ask questions in real-time. Our Unified Track team is going to STATE! CONGRATS to our Burkburnett Bulldogs Regional Runner Ups Unified UIL State Track and Field Championship is April 25, 2025 @ Hendrickson High School

Our Burkburnett Tennis team had an AMAZING 2 days of district!! We placed first as a girls’ team and 1st as a boys’ team! Individual medalists that qualified (placed 1st or 2nd) for regionals include: Girls doubles Summer Daniel & Anaztazia Buhat 1st place Girls singles Jasmyne Anderson 1st place Boys doubles Owen Ruiz & Landon Lowrey 1st place Ethan Dold & Noah Albin 2nd place Boys singles Caden Coker 1st place Mason Reed 2nd place Mixed doubles Julie Stauffer & Dylon Ruiz 1st place 4th place finishers include: Dakota Hofstede girls singles Tiyana Bolar & Russell Calhoun mixed doubles Jeri Moon & Helouwe Djidda girls doubles We are beyond proud of these athletes. We had some absolute marathon matches going 3 sets, some lasting up to 4 hours long. These kids have shown such fight, tenacity, and heart. They represented BISD so well.

📚 WELCOME TO THE BISD FAMILY, PAYTON MCKEE! 📚 We're thrilled to introduce one of our newest educators joining Burkburnett ISD! Payton McKee, a proud 2020 BISD graduate, is returning home to inspire the next generation of Bulldogs as an English teacher at Burkburnett High School! Payton will graduate from Midwestern State University this May with a degree in Secondary Education, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome her to our teaching team. When not in the classroom, Payton enjoys taking her dogs on long walks, baking delicious treats, and traveling - a passion ignited during her study abroad experience in London, England! Payton is also planning her future with her wonderful fiancée, and we're delighted they've chosen to make Burkburnett their home. Payton's dedication to education stems from her desire to make meaningful connections with students and make learning relevant to their lives. She believes teachers have a profound impact on their students and is committed to making that difference every day. As a BISD alumna, Payton is especially excited to return to the district that shaped her and to give back to our community. She looks forward to inspiring students and fostering a love for English alongside our incredible staff. The Air Force Junior ROTC instructors and cadets of Unit TX-20008, Burkburnett High School in Burkburnett, TX and crosstown school cadets from Iowa Park High School earned an overall unit assessment score of “Exceeds Standards”… the highest rating attainable…during their evaluation on Mar 27, 2025. Major Rousseaux (Ret) and SMSgt Koby (Ret) created a dynamic and supportive learning environment coupled with an excellent community outreach. The instructors provided outstanding leadership in administering the cadet centered citizenship program. The Burkburnett High School cadets as well as the crosstown school cadets from Iowa Park High School performed exceptionally well and took great pride in leading and accomplishing their unit goals. The Burkburnett High School Air Force Junior ROTC citizenship program is making a positive impact on the cadets, the school and the surrounding community.  Top Performer Award recipients for SY2024-2025 awarded during the assessment were Cadet Major Mia Jackson and Cadet Second Lieutenant Arriana Samson.

Burkburnett ISD would like to say how much we appreciate our amazing Assistant Principals! They are the best in Texas and we couldn't be the district we are without them! Happy Assistant Principal Appreciation Week!
