Under the direction of Christina Hallwachs, the Burkburnett High School (BHS) Varsity Choir has once again proven its exceptional musical talent by securing a prestigious Sweepstakes trophy at this year's UIL competition. The choir achieved a remarkable feat by earning both a Concert Rating of 1- Superior and a Sight-Reading Rating of 1- Superior.
This outstanding performance marks a significant milestone in the choir's history, as it represents the first back-to-back Sweepstakes trophy in BHS Choir's legacy. Moreover, the achievement continues the choir's impressive streak of UIL awards, spanning eight consecutive years (with the exception of 2020).
The choir's success is a testament to the dedication and hard work of its members, who demonstrated not only musical excellence but also exceptional character throughout the competition. Choir directors and supporters noted the students' professionalism, particularly their willingness to help with stage setup and breakdown while awaiting competition results.
