The Bulldog Basics are the everyday behaviors that reflect the values of the Bulldog Way.

Take a moment to recognize a Burkburnett ISD staff member for positive practices, kindness, or dedication you've witnessed. Your words of encouragement can make a lasting impact. Each recognition will be printed on a certificate and presented to the staff member as a meaningful reminder of the difference they make. Please contribute one recognition for each submission.

By choosing kindness, honesty, respect, responsibility, perseverance, and supporting one another, our staff helps create a positive and welcoming school culture. When we practice these principles every day, the Bulldog Way comes to life in our classrooms, hallways, and throughout our community.

BISD Bulldog Basics Staff Recognition

Congratulations to John G. Tower Elementary on earning the Texas Education Agency’s Purple Star Campus Designation!

This designation recognizes campuses committed to supporting the unique needs of military-connected students and their families. Tower Elementary met rigorous criteria, including providing a military liaison, transition support, accessible resources, and initiatives that strengthen connections with military families.

Principal Heather Whited stated, “We are incredibly honored that our school has been officially designated as a Purple Star Campus. This distinction reflects our deep, unwavering commitment to supporting our military-connected students and families as they navigate the unique challenges of military life. Thank you to our amazing staff, community, and military families for making our school a welcoming, supportive place where every hero’s child can thrive!”

More information about how BISD supports for our military-connected families can be found here: https://www.burkburnettisd.org/page/military-families

Mary Cluley is a top three finalist for Texas Teacher of the Year.
Mrs. Lemons' 2nd graders had fun creating their very own “About Me” pennants! 🏳️ They shared their favorite things, interests, and fun facts while learning more about their new classmates. 💛 What a fun way to celebrate what makes each of us unique and start building our classroom community! 📚😊

Officer Bright, you set a beautiful example of the Bulldog Way. Yesterday at lunch, one of the cafeteria workers was not there, and Officer Bright could be found wiping down tables and doing all the things in the cafeteria! This was a great teaching opportunity for our students, on why it is important to do more than as expected! Thank you Officer Bright!

The Specials Teachers here at Tower are implementing a "Kindness Challenge" this school year, and so far we are beyond pleased with the results! We are hearing students say, "You go first." They say, "What would YOU prefer?" along with "Is there anything I could help you with?" Please read the flyer to learn more! We are encouraging selflessness, goodness and kindness, and we want it to spread to the whole world! Thank you for helping us in this endeavor!

Oh, the selflessness that we see on a daily basis here at John Tower! All week in PE we have been playing with some brand new colorful "sling rings." Unfortunately, today many of them fell apart, with the beads falling out all over the gym floor. At the end of class, 5th grader Maijor asked me if he could come back after school and sweep the gym for me! Wow! We have the BEST students at Tower Elementary!
