Burkburnett ISD is excited to introduce our 2026 Adopt-A-Bulldog Holiday Assistance Program beginning November 9!
This new initiative will connect BISD students and families (Pre-K to 12th grade) who may need additional holiday support with caring community members, local businesses, churches, organizations, and BISD staff who want to help make the holiday season a little brighter.
Interested in helping sponsor a Bulldog this holiday season? We are currently gathering donor interest so we can begin preparing for our program launch on November 9th. Complete our Donor Interest Form: https://forms.gle/Hajs8hGPmuvXf9na6
Completing the form simply lets us know that you are interested in being a donor or adopting multiple bulldogs! Additional information regarding the adoption process, student wish lists, donation guidelines, and important deadlines will be provided as we get closer to the program launch.
How can my child qualify? Referrals are submitted internally by BISD staff and counselors only. Families do not need to complete a form or take action unless they are contacted by the District Social Worker and invited to participate. A referral does not guarantee participation or assistance. Parent/guardian consent is required, and eligibility is determined based on established program criteria and available resources. This program is not affiliated with Angel Tree. All student and family information will be kept confidential.

Pre-K is often a child’s first experience with school and an important opportunity to build confidence, independence, curiosity, and a love for learning.
BISD students develop skills in:
📚 Early Literacy & Language - vocabulary, communication, letters, sounds, stories, and sharing ideas
🔢 Early Math - counting, numbers, patterns, shapes, sorting, and measurement
🤝 Social-Emotional Skills - sharing, cooperation, managing emotions, problem-solving, and building friendships
✂️ Physical Development - fine- and gross-motor skills, coordination, and body awareness
💡 Thinking & Learning - curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, persistence, and confidence
Academic instruction is intentional, focused, and goal-oriented. Teachers use multiple data points to monitor student progress and determine when learning goals have been met. Students are celebrated by staff and peers as they master their goals and are encouraged to demonstrate persistence as they progress through each unit of study.
Consistent attendance is important at this stage as students progress throughout the school year. Every day is another opportunity to become the best students they can be!
