Director of Technology
Working with technology has been a passion I have had from a very young age. I enjoy "making things work" and also making people happy. I consider myself a lifelong learner. I feel my experience in the teaching world as well as my love for technology will be a great fit as the Director of Technology. This is my 21st year in the district. Before I became the Director of Technology, I was the Overton Ray Elementary Technology Facilitator. I also managed all of the curriculum sites in the district, as well as the Xirrus WiFi Network. From 2003 to 2014, I taught computer classes at Burkburnett High School and coached volleyball and soccer.
I graduated from Burkburnett High School in 1999. I received my bachelors degree in Business Administration majoring in Business Computer Information Systems in 2003 from Midwestern State University. I graduated from Wayland Baptist in 2005 with my Masters in Education.
I currently hold a Business 6-12 teaching certificate as well as a Technology Applications EC-12 teaching certificate. I am a Xirrus Certified Wireless Technician (XCWT), a Certified Fiber Optics Technician (CFOT), a Microsoft Office Specialist, and also a Level 1 Google Certified Educator.
When I am not at work, I love spending time with my family and staying fit. My Husband, David Montgomery, who is also a Burkburnett graduate, is a geography/history teacher at our alternative school, Gateway. We have been married for 17 years and we have two amazing sons. Joseph is in 11th grade and Jonathan is a 5th grader here at Burkburnett ISD.
