Southwestern Oklahoma State University has added another promising talent to their football program with the signing of Christian "Buddy" Owen. Owen, a four-year letterman in football who excelled both athletically and academically, will continue his athletic career with the SWOSU Bulldogs.

Owen's impressive high school career includes numerous accolades that demonstrate his exceptional abilities both on and off the field. A four-year starter and team captain, he was selected to the prestigious Red River 22 team three times, showcasing his consistent excellence against top regional competition. His leadership and performance also earned him three First Team All-District selections.

Beyond his athletic achievements, Owen exemplified the true meaning of student-athlete, earning both Academic All-State and Academic All-District honors. His dedication to excellence in both academics and athletics made him a standout representative of his high school's values and traditions.

Head Football Coach Patrick Williams spoke highly of Owen's impact on the program: "We're all very proud of Buddy's accomplishments both academically and athletically. He is a shining example of the Bulldog way and Dog Pride. We wish him well in this next chapter of his life and look forward to celebrating his future successes."

The transition to Southwestern Oklahoma State seems particularly fitting, as Owen will continue to represent the Bulldog mascot at the collegiate level. His high school legacy as both a leader and scholar-athlete suggests he will make a significant impact in the next chapter of his academic and athletic career.

"Good luck Buddy- we know you'll make us proud," added Williams. "Once a Bulldog always a Bulldog."
