Come enjoy performances from all BISD campuses, showcasing the talents of our students and staff. There'll be music, dance, and more to keep you entertained! Feeling hungry? We've got you covered! At last night's School Board meeting, we were able to honor some of our amazing Teachers and Staff. We recognized our Campus Teachers of the Year. These outstanding educators were selected by their peers and colleagues as their much-deserving representatives for their respective campuses. The Teachers of the Year for 2024 are: IC Evans: Brittany Boyd John Tower: Amber Reitz Overton Ray: Rachel Moxley Burkburnett Middle School: Robin McAdams Burkburnett High School: Robyn Little Gateway Accelerated Academy: Tiffany Gunnels We also recognized a couple of our other departments. Our Transportation Dept announced our dedicated Bus Driver of the Year, Maddison Hickman. We also honored the leadership team in our Child Nutrition Department for passing our major audit with no issues! Those honored were Child Nutrition Director Deb Welch and her two main assistants Pam Cravens and Rosalinda Dominguez. All of these employees and colleagues are the epitome of The Bulldog Way, and we couldn't be the district we are without them.

There will be no school Friday, March 29th and Monday, April 1st. These days are designated as bad weather make-up days on the school calendar. Join us Wednesday, March 27th at the Burkburnett High School track for the Unified Track Meet. Opening ceremonies will start at 9:30 am and events will follow at 10 am. All Unified track teams from each school at Burkburnett ISD will be participating.

Join Dr. Owen live, March 4th at 6 PM on our Burkburnett ISD Facebook Page. As a way to continue to provide opportunities for our community to provide feedback to our school district and superintendent, we will be hosting periodic town hall meetings through Facebook Live. Please keep all questions focused on policies, processes, or facilities at the district or campus level. Dr. Owen will not be answering any questions about specific personnel or student situations. Dr. Owen will give a district update and then answer your submitted questions. Dr. Owen will end the town hall with a live Q & A that will allow you to ask questions in real-time. We hope you will take the time to join in on these town halls and we hope you find the information and format beneficial.
