In a remarkable display of offensive prowess, three Burkburnett High School basketball players have achieved prestigious scoring milestones this season. Ayden White has surpassed 1,500 career points, while teammates Robert Ingram and Ozavian Buford have each eclipsed 1,000 points in their high school careers.
White, a three-year letterman, leads the trio with his entry into the 1,500-point club. Ingram, also a three-year letterman, and Buford, who remarkably reached the milestone in just two varsity seasons, have both joined the exclusive 1,000-point club.
Reaching these milestones requires exceptional dedication and consistency. For a typical 30-game regular season, achieving 1,000 points over three years demands averaging approximately 12 points per game. Buford's accomplishment in just two seasons is particularly noteworthy, requiring an average of about 17 points per game. White's 1,500-point achievement over three years translates to an impressive average of roughly 17 points per game throughout his career.
"We are extremely proud of the high school careers that Rob, Ayden, and Ozavian have had up to this point," said Varsity Coach James Moseley. "These three men's accomplishments could only have happened with their countless hours in the gym out of practice and their on-court leadership abilities that drive the team."
Moseley emphasized that these achievements, while impressive individually, reflect the team's collective effort. "These accomplishments may look to be individual, but we do not see it this way," he explained. "As each athlete knows, it would not have been possible without their teammates working together day in and day out through countless drills off the ball and on the ball movements."
The success aligns with the team's "NPH" motto - Nobody Plays Harder - demonstrating the Dunkin Dogs' commitment to excellence both individually and as a unit. The trio's achievements have helped lead Burkburnett to a second-place finish in district play this season. Playoff details are pending and will be announced when available.
