I.C. Evans Elementary

is celebrating its 50th Birthday on

Thursday, May 23!

There will be a community celebration on May 23, from 3:30pm-5:00pm in the IC Evans library.

Guests and alumni are invited to attend the celebration of the school’s opening in 1963. Staff will celebrate by wearing their 50th birthday t-shirts. Earlier in the day, the students will celebrate by singing “Happy Birthday”, sharing in birthday cake at lunch, and joining together in the shape of the number “50” on the playground for an aerial picture.

The current staff and students invite the five decades of grandparents, parents, students, and friends to return back through the halls of I.C. Evans Elementary.

Upcoming Testing Dates

5th grade Math (2nd administration) - May 14

5th grade Reading (2nd administration) - May 15

Please have your child to school on time especially on these testing days. We will begin testing as soon as possible after announcements and we need your child to receive instructions from his/her teacher. Our lunch schedule for those students testing may possibly be changed on these days as well. Please do not make any appointments for your child on these dates. Once a student has opened the test, he/she may not leave and return to continue testing.

Please contact your child's teacher or Mrs. Wiese if you have any questions regarding STAAR testing.

Parents...our new doors  by the office are locked from 8:05am until 2:35pm each day. If you arrive between these times you will need to come through the office and sign in.

The cafeteria doors remain locked throughout the day as well.

Remember, to go into the building during the school day you will need to bring your driver's license in order to sign in through the kiosk to receive a badge.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding that this is for your child's safety.

SOAR ( Student Online Achievement Resources) is a program for military families and the school districts that serve them.  It aims to address the unique challenges facing military children in our nation's public schools, while benefiting the overall student population.  It is now available for parents to use at home with children in grades 3rd - 12th. Information was presented during the October PTO meeting and will be discussed again during the November and December PTO meetings. The link for SOAR at home is http:// SoarAtHome.com . Please contact the main office if you need further information.
